YOU HAVE QUESTIONS – AND WE HAVE ANSWERS
There are a number of ways by which Brailliance will be improved:
Addition of a ringer feature that alerts users to incoming communications
Wireless support
Speech-text support on website
Brailliance was founded in 2024 to satisfy the world's need for inexpensive Braille readers. Our prototype design uses ASCII input to transfer to linear inductors that move Braille pins on a 45-cell display.
We've yet to bring our many CAD files to life. Rest assured, we have all the components designed and ready for production.
We're a group of high school students brought together by a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Beaver Works Summer Institute program, Basics of ASICs. Read more about us here.
We hope to make this product accessible and affordable for anyone, so Brailliance's estimated cost registers at approximately 1/10 of the price commonly charged for a similar Braille reader. Our design is simplistic without compromising on features.
Currently, Brailliance has support for Braille Level 1. We'll expand to Braille Level 2 in the near future.
